Men’s Golf Concludes NSU Shark Invitational in 10th Place

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. (Men’s Golf) – Florida Tech closed out the NSU Shark Invitational Tuesday with a 301 to finish 10th at 36-over-par.

Following three rounds on PGA National’s The Champion course, the Panthers' final score was 900. Arkansas-Fort Smith and Wilmington (Del.) nipped FIT by one stroke for the eighth spot. Barry, the leader after day one, hung on to win the tournament by 14 strokes over runner-up Nova Southeastern.

Christian Westhorpe tied for 26th at nine-over (225). Andres Thielen carded a 227 and tied for 36th. Ray Badenhorst shed five strokes from his round two score, a 79, to tie for 40th (229). Also tying Badenhorst was his teammate Patrick Sheedy, who shot his lowest score of the tournament Tuesday, a 75. Colin Flabbi tied for 46th with a 230.

Barry’s Simon Forsslund won the individual trophy at five-under (211).

The Panthers have a few weeks off before playing their final tournament of the season, The Collegiate Players Cup on Nov. 5-6.
