At the high school level, he has won multiple state championships. In 2003 and 2004, he coached West Henderson High School in Hendersonville, N.C., to two North Carolina State Championships. He also coached three of the six North Carolina individual state champion divers in 2006.
In 2007, Rochelle moved from Hendersonville, N.C., to Melbourne. He coached West Shore High School from 2010-13, leading the team to a 32-4 record and two district runner-up finishes.
During his college career, Rochelle competed in swimming and springboard diving for Appalachian State University. He was an NCAA qualifier for springboard diving.
In high school, Rochelle competed on three state championship teams at Grimsley High School in Greensboro, N.C., which won 16 consecutive North Carolina state titles.
Rochelle is currently the head coach of the Brevard Swim Club, which is a local USA Swimming member club. He has been married for 19 years and has four grown children.
