SAINT LEO, Fla. (Men’s and Women’s Swimming) – Florida Tech’s first-year swimming program completed its regular-season schedule Saturday by competing against Rollins and Saint Leo in a double dual at the Bowman Center Pool.
The Panthers totaled notable results despite losing to its two opponents. The men lost to Rollins 66-47 and Saint Leo 100-13. The women, meanwhile, lost to Rollins 96-16 and Saint Leo 97-15.
Steven Moodie continued his strong freshman season, touching the pad second in the 50-yard butterfly at 23.80. Andrew Cannon, Ross Donatelli and Kaikea Nakachi also placed third in their respective races. Moodie, Donatelli and Nakachi joined Zach Sanchez for the 200-yard medley relay and earned third at 1:41.17.
Allison Randolph paced the women by finishing third in the 50-yard butterfly at 31.57. Madison Hart was edged out of third place in the 50-yard backstroke by eighth-hundredths of a second at 32.08. Jenny McAndrews and Daphne Laino joined forces with Randolph and Hart to finish fourth in the 200-yard medley relay at 2:12.30.
Next up for FIT is the Sunshine State Conference Championships Feb. 15-18 at The Long Center in Clearwater, Fla.
