Senior garners national award after leading Florida Tech to a pair of key victories last week

PERRY, N.Y. (Men's Lacrosse) - After leading Florida Tech to a pair of key victories last week, men's lacrosse captain Nick Wynne was recognized as the USILA/BSN Divsion II National Offensive Player of the Week.

The attackman was a major factor in the Panthers' wins over two tough opponents, in Chestnut Hill and No. 5 Seton Hill. Wynne began the week recording two points, on one goal and an assist, to go along with four ground balls in the 12-11 victory over Chestnut Hill on Tuesday. The senior  then notched a hat trick and two ground balls to lead FIT to a 5-3 upset win over No. 5 Seton Hill on Saturday, marking the first time Florida Tech has defeated a Top 5 team in program history.

Following his stellar week, Wynne collected Sunshine State Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors, as well, on Monday. Through eight games this season, the Sykesville, Maryland product leads Florida Tech, and ranks fifth in the SSC, with 31 points on 22 goals and nine assists.
