MELBOURNE, Fla. (Volleyball) – Florida Tech ended its three-game homestand with a 3-1 loss to Palm Beach Atlantic Wednesday evening at the Clemente Center. Set scores were 25-20, 20-25, 26-24 and 25-15.
Kaitlin Brennan had a team-high 15 kills with a .393 hitting percentage for the Panthers (6-18). Caitlyn Ballweber also posted double figures in kills with 11. Alexis Mastela tossed up 41 of the team’s 47 assists. Angie Lassman paced her teammates with 21 digs at libero. FIT totaled 10 team blocks to Palm Beach Atlantic’s five-and-a-half. Janelle Branch registered one block solo and seven block assists to go with nine kills. The Sailfish (20-3) limited their counterpart to a .224 hitting percentage. They also committed fewer service and return errors, while holding FIT to a 49 percent sideout percentage. The Panthers will play four of their last six matches on the road beginning with a trip to South Florida to play Lynn Friday at 7 p.m. and Barry Saturday at 4 p.m. Live video will be available for both matches through the GameCentral platform at FloridaTechSports.com. |
