Lademann Selected to Capital One Academic All-America Third Team

TOWSON, Md. (Women’s Soccer) – Florida Tech senior forward Casey Lademann was named to the Capital One Division II Academic All-America Third Team Wednesday. She is the first women’s soccer player from FIT to earn the award in the program’s nine-year history.
Lademann, a business administration major, carried a 3.93 cumulative grade point average heading into the 2011-12 academic year. Less than one month ago, she was tabbed to the Capital One Academic All-District First Team for the second time in her two-year Panther career. The Flagler Beach, Fla. product concluded her playing stint at FIT earlier this month with 21 goals and nine assists for a total of 51 points. She will graduate as the program’s single-season goals and points record holder after scoring 16 times and totaling 36 points one season ago. Rollins’ Charlotte Murrell also represented the Sunshine State Conference on the Academic All-America Team, picking up third team honors. Grand Valley State’s Ashley Botts was chosen as the winner of the Academic All-America of the Year award for women’s soccer. Voting for the Academic All-America Team was conducted by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). |
